Oh Happy Day

We had a sunny day, both weather wise and for the family. Yesterday’s strong winds finally calmed by daybreak. That was good news for hubby and his Adopt a Highway crew who were on tap to clean their assigned road edges very early today. He got home for a nice breakfast and then headed to church to help my son-in-law who was heading up the men who power washed all the parish buildings. They look so good now. I had to share the photo of my clematis while it still had this many blooms. There was only one the day we left for WV. I finally cleaned up the mess from the broken closet shelf and put away Easter baskets, etc. That bedroom looks so much better. Not sure if walk-in closets are a blessing or curse. We were both worn out by 2:00 pm so we took a short rest. Having been gone for a month, the to do list is as long as Santa’s. But we quit for the day and headed to my youngest daughter’s to celebrate our grandson’s 14th birthday. Two of his cousins joined us. Chase chose carryouts from the local Japanese Steak House for dinner and a Coldstone ice cream cake. Both were delicious. Afterwards, everyone but me went to the movies to see “Godzilla vs. Kong”. Kris was gifted 20 tickets, $200 in theater gift cards, popcorn and exclusive use of one theater room by her boss at Christmas. Chase’s entire 8th grade class was meeting them at theater. Kris had to purchase 10 additional tickets but what a nice event it should be. I would have nightmares. There will always be a job list but spending quality time with the family has to take precedence. Thanks for the visit, stars and nice comments. Hope you have a blessed weekend.
