Another Unplanned Shot

I need some coloured backgrounds for indoor macro work so was prowling around the garden snapping some mixtures of colours - it's so easy when you actually want them to be totally out of focus - when I noticed that the bay tree was flowering. Clusters of tiny flowers form in the leaf axils & they normally don't attract my attention at all, but this time I fetched the tripod & had a go at capturing them, despite the slight breeze. The latter made any kind of focus stacking out of the question, so this is one of those arty in & out of focus shots.

The bay itself is one we grew from cuttings we snipped in a garden in Cornwall - we didn't expect it to survive in our more severe climate but it has, & is now some three or four metres high, despite occasional trimming.
