The Berberis by the front gate is in full flower at the moment & was dutifully selected as today's target. It's one of those shrubs with arching branches, laden with tiny flowers. The idea was to get in really close with the macro lens & also achieve a sparkling background. Hmm. After much faffing with angles/composition, during which time the wind continued to rise, the best arrangement seemed to be looking up, but not in as close as I'd originally planned. A highish arch was also necessary - having to focus using varifocals on a fixed LCD screen ruled out using some of the more sheltered lower branches!
