Derelict Sunday

Thought I could beat the rain today and set off up St Ives in lovely sunshine.   Quieter than usual for a Sunday, although the cafe was doing a good trade.  Bought a takeaway coffee and wandered around the lower pathways, and then back up to the mansion.  Saw this old iron gate abandoned in the undergrowth.  I had a better image, but liked this shot with the single bluebell pushing up through it.  Decided it would be okay for Derelict Sunday. Thanks to Marlieske for hosting.  Had a wander around the pond and liked the new bench which has appeared (extra).  A sweet dedication plaque saying “Grumps’s bench. Loved by everyone. Missed forever.”  Brought a lump to my throat!  The name on the plaque was familiar - not sure if he was a local.  Along with that, pink seemed to be the order of the day from the horse with the snazzy fly mask to the beautiful Rhodies which are beginning to bloom.  Called at the garden centre on the way home and just got through my front door as the rain started - perfect timing.  Now sunny again!
