Weston Woods, Somerset

The right hand picture of the woods, where I returned today, had been my chosen image for today's blip. (You can see glimpses of Sand Bay through the trees.) However, I've ended up with a diptych for a reason: I'm hoping someone can help me identify the trees to the left of the right-hand photo of Weston Woods, whose newly opened leaves appear in close-up in the left-hand picture.

Looking at the leaves alone, I'd thought maybe hornbeam or wych elm, but I think the smooth bark is wrong for both of those options. Any ideas, oh, knowledgeable blipmates?

Another lovely day of enjoying the local area in between caring duties. Hope you're enjoying a pleasant bank holiday wherever you are.
