Paisley

Panic when I woke at 5am this morning as I realised the amended paper I’d emailed to colleagues yesterday morning for the next person to work on over the weekend was still in my outbox not going anywhere. Spent nearly an hour trying everything I could think of including two restarts before it finally went, but then difficult to get back to sleep.
Once we were ready we set off to K’s for a coffee and chat...lovely to just sit and witter on about nonsense and snack on a selection of the biscuits and cakes she always has in the house.
A getting itchy though as she was massively excited to go and see this pooch in a rescue centre...she’s been looking for a Saluki for ages to get for N’s 30th birthday this year and although that’s not til August this Saluki Lurcher cross became available and she’s perfect, at 2yrs old and, although nervous of other dogs, otherwise seems very gentle and fun. We ended up taking her for a walk....very good on the lead...and played with her for quite a while, with A besotted. She’d hoped to keep her a secret til pick up day, but they said N has to come to meet her and then there needs to be a home visit before they can have her, so she’ll have to work out when and how to do all that.
Stopped off at T’s and made huge sandwiches and cups of tea as she chatted on excitedly about Paisley, then we went to see his allotment (extra) which is looking good...full of promise of veg and fruit to come. It was knee high in weeds when they got it last autumn. We enjoyed looking round all the other plots, most of which were really neat and well tended, and chatted about crops and plans.
Back to his place where Kt had just arrived home from a not very successful showjumping day, and she and A talked dogs and dog training for ages, A anxious to soak up as much knowledge as possible.
Home and settled down to watch Line of Duty....surprised at the low key ending which I suspect was planned as a way to hold the door open for another series.
