Bird of Paradise

We had a wedding this afternoon in The Mackintosh Church, so I came up to Glasgow earlier in the day to ensure everything was setup. As I had some time before the wedding I decided to go down to the Winter Gardens. The weather was terrible today, it was cold and wet, so decided take a few shots of the exotic plants.

This is a detail of the Bird of Paradise, also known as Crane flowers and is one of the most beautiful Exotic Flowers. Birds of Paradise are native to South Africa and bloom from September through to May.

The flowers of the Birds of Paradise resemble a brightly coloured bird in flight and so the name. Hope you like.
