I was captivated by this bonsai tree in the woods today, not much taller than the very late bluebells or the unfurling ferns.

After about as long a walk as I wanted, I reached my bike to discover a flat back tyre. Sigh. Ah well, walking rather than cycling the 2½ miles home would be manageable and there's a bike shop almost en route home. But when I got there its closed shutters reminded me that today was a bank holiday. Some replanning for my early start tomorrow needed.

I think I might have been unwise to challenge Fate to a duel last week.
