Reflected Willow

A second day of temperatures in the 80s, tempered slightly by a cooling wind, but not as strong as yesterday's. Enough so, however, to create rippling patterns on the water surface, varying in speed and direction with the rise and fall in wind intensity.

Not only was the water moving but also the tree and I became intrigued by the reflections of the long dangly bits of the willow blowing around in the wind.

Timing, shutter speed and aperture all seemed to impact the outcome and a deal of experimentation ensued. Most of the frames I discarded because the image became homogenised and mushy.

The oranges of the trunk were overpowering. I had to knock them back a touch to balance with the less vibrant greens and also brought out the blue sky reflections.
