Protecting...

It feels like we're heading back to Winter?

We managed a walk around the lake before the rain really got going. It was good to see most of the young bird families were fine. This mallard was trying to snooze while protecting her young from the wind and rain.

We also had a few other bird encounters too. We saw a dipper on the River Trent which runs alongside Trentham Gardens. The water is so low it can swim quite easily underwater and bob back up again. We saw a reed bunting and even heard a cuckoo.
