The Great Moose Migration

Spring means that it’s time for the slow-TV project The Great Moose Migration. We LOVE The Great Moose Migration! It’s a 24/7 TV broadcast from the river Ångermanälven in northern Sweden, where moose have swum across the river as part of their migration from winter to summer grazing areas for thousands of years.

Most of the time, nothing much happens, which is part of the whole thing. There are birds, a fox crossing the ice, ice melting, a beaver or otter swimming by, an eagle snacking or a flock of reindeer snoozing. Then wham! moose appear, to great excitement. Some swim here, some turn back after carefully thinking this through and mum says they swim somewhere else. They are very good and graceful swimmers! In the evenings there is a “highlights” section, if you just want the action. Yay!!
