There is more to it than a discharged pile of concrete fence posts.

The posts themselves are probably 80 or 90 years old and were dug out in 1987 when BR moved their fence line some 30 yards closer to the railway when the line was electrified.

That the railway acquired such a large parcel of land is probably related to the existence of an adjacent Gas Works which probably had a small siding for the delivery of coal.

All long gone except for some concrete fence posts
