Monnow Bridge in Monmouth

We wanted a run out so we we had a day in Monmouth. This Grade I listed Monnow bridge was built in 1272 to replace an older wooden bridge which was built by the Normans and crosses the River Monnow.  Because of the high number of accidents involving motor cars on the bridge, a new one was built further down the river and this bridge was pedestrianised.
