St.Cadoc's Church, Llancarfan, Vale of Glamorgan.

A visit to St.Cadoc's Church at Llancarfan in the Vale of Glamorgan is quite an experience. The inner walls of the Grade I listed, 13th century church have some of the best wall paintings I have ever seen. They were discovered by accident when workmen were called in to sort out a problem around the roof area. The wall paintings had been covered in many layers of lime wash to comply with the ruling of the Henry 8th reformation and remained hidden for many years. Parties of history students now spend time each year slowly removing the lime wash to reveal more and more of these wonderful paintings.
