Bealtaine

OMG, just staggered in from a mega day out. The rains stopped, the wind dropped ( a bit) and the sun came out. We rendezvoused with Robert and Finola for a takeaway coffee at Budds in Ballyedhob then set off east - our theme promontory forts, our destination a multitude of little headlands between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery.  First stop the woods at Castlefreke where the bluebells were looking magnificent, then on to Dundeady/ Galley Head where the wind was mighty, the grass bouncy, the pinks pink , the promontory fort impressive and there was a blow hole; then Dunowen where we managed a Lady's Well and a tramp through ankle stinging gorse; then Dunnycove which I can't remember;  followed by Dirk's cove where we watched the gannets and admired a very modern house, then another holy well and finally back to Dun Oir where the road stopped, the blokes stayed in the car and Finola and I ventured downwards ending at the most spectacular cove, all slatey cliffs and red stones. On the way back we watched a fox silently doing  his foxy stuff in the field. The colours were incredible and we now feel weather beaten and wrecked!
And of course it's (almost) Bealtaine - the bluebells are all summery and full of heady promise and the faint Celtic spiral was found when we also nipped into a church to admire some stained glass windows featuring Celtic knotwork! Sort of mesmerising and otherworldly as fits the bill. Right off to see what you've come up with - thank you in advance for those who've given this week's Tiny Tuesday a go.
