PSB

Monty Don (in last weeks Gardener's World) was pulling out at least some of his purple sprouting to make room for other veggies.  He commented on the cost/benefit of growing it - it takes up a lot of room, for a full year, but the taste of freshly picked PSB is worth it.

Ours is occupying an entire raised bed.  And until March, we were wondering if it would ever crop.  But one benefit of the cold spring is that once it finally started sprouting it has continued to crop well, and we are reluctant to pull it out.  This was more than enough for our dinner (a rather lovely meal with monk fish), and there's still lots on the plants.  But it looks as though the weather is going to improve soon (after yet another cold, wet, windy day today, it really can't come soon enough!), so it may shortly start bolting.

W has just planted next spring's crop in a second bed.
