Firepool Pumphouse

The Victorian Railway pumphouse - marked "Van Heusen" on canal side and "Taunton Freight Concentration Depot' on the railway side. The water tank on the top used to provide a ready supply of water for all the water columns to fill the tanks of the steam engines in the station area. This is the canal side-  it is built on top of former Medieval lime kilns, and is a Grade II listed structure.
