Now, as I see it......

Moving: Day 2

The postman delivered these this morning; a box of hand iced biscuits from a specialist baker in London.  A housewarming present from W’s oldest friend who she has known since she first started school many years ago!

We had a lovely night’s sleep last night back in our own bed for the first time since October.  The removers had to collect the final two crates from Northampton and as there was a bit of a delay the driver didn’t arrive at the house until around 1.30pm.  His colleague had turned up at about 8.30am and waited outside in his van for five hours!  We’d invited him in to keep warm but other than nipping in for a coffee and to use the facilities he was happy outside; apparently long waits are a regular part of the job.  By the time the lorry arrived we had emptied quite a lot of the boxes, albeit largely onto the kitchen work surfaces, but at least it felt like progress.  The removers promptly filled all the spaces with more boxes!

At least we are in, and we have arranged the lounge so that it is a little oasis of calm amongst all the chaos.  Tomorrow we formally hand back our rental property and then both have our second Covid jabs, so we will try to fit in more unpacking when we can.

Many thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts.  I really appreciate them all but I’m sure you’ll understand that at the moment I have no time for looking at or commenting on blip.  Normal service will resume eventually!
