Family History - in Badges, Pins and Coins

Once again round to Rose's for dinner. This time Rose was trying out a vegetarian, near vegan, taco pie. She was characteristically doubtful as she placed it on the table, but it was really delicious. Definitely a recipe to repeat!
During the wide-ranging conversation we got onto the topic of badges and pins, and Rose fetched this small collection from her family history. Items passed on to her by older family (an 1888 farthing) and various other coins, or gained by her children and left with her when they grew up. Among those is the lovely blue "Baddaren" badge, a pre-swimming badge from the Swedish Swimming Federation, and a bronze, silver, and gold badge for "Skogsmulle" (Forest troll) which is a Scandinavian forerunner (started in the 1950's) to the Forest Schools movement for the under 7's.
Over a million kids were part of "Skogsmulle" in the first 50 years of it's life, which says something for the part nature plays in Swedish culture. Perhaps a sign of how well suited I am to this side of Swedish culture is that as I write this I'm watching (more listening to actually) today's Swedish Elk Trek. It's evening and nothing is moving in the forest but there's a lot of bird song. Earlier I watched a small icefloe drifting downriver carrying two sleeping ducks with it. If this link works you see three elk (moose) swimming across the river at about 8:15 this morning. Update, the link didn't quite work as expected. Click the link, then look down the page. Under the picture is a list of the day's happenings. Click on...
