From our window

This is the view from our holiday cottage lounge window.

It rained all day from Arnside to the ferry at Ardrossen.  But it was a smooth crossing and we arrived at our cottage at about 5p.m.
And now the sun has come out and it is a very pleasant evening.

Many poeple will recognise the conical island in the photo. It is Ailsa Craig. A volcanic island in the Firth of Clyde. It is uninhabited by humans but has a large colony of Gannets and an increasing number of Puffins.
Granite from the island is used to make the best stones for the sport of Curling.

Lovely to be here. Thanks to all those who sent good wishes for our little holiday.
