Another grim day. Nevertheless, took the bike and camera to Blackford Pond to see what beasties can be found. A part from a few flies and a very unhappy toad with some skin disease there was nothing. Otherwise I spent most of today glued to the internet watching the election results come in. I am happy the Greens did well and managed to get an extra 2 seats. I think they are starting to be seen as a credible alternative. I do think that one of the biggest problem the UK has is the election system. There is just no pathway for new parties and renewal. It's the old crusty stuff for evermore. The Scottish electorate (which now includes everybody living in Scotland who is 16 years or older) have clearly voted for pro-independence parties. It will be interesting to see how the next few years will work out. I do think the practicalities of independence would be quite tricky to deal with. Well, we shall see.
