Bluebells at High Ash

High Ash farm opened their bluebell woods this weekend.  The original plan was for them to open to the general public yesterday, and then just for sponsors today.  And as we are sponsors, we had planned to avoid the hordes and visit today.  But earlier this week we got an email to tell us that they had cancelled the opening yesterday in view of the weather forecast, and would be open to all today.

Today dawned bright and sunny, so we decided to brave the hordes and visit anyway.  We combined our visit with the walk around High Ash that has become one of our regular walks.  The weather was great - I did most of the walk in shirt sleeves.  The bluebells were lovely - not only in the "proper" bluebell woods, but also in other areas seen on our walk.

I've put an album onto Flickr of other photos from today.  And I've added an "arty" extra which shows how far from flowering the hawthorn (Mayflower) is.
