Lily of the valley

The whole garden is bursting into life.  The meadow and the bog areas are growing well, there are aquilegias everywhere - including a self-seeded one right at the bottom of the garden, the delphiniums are budding, the alliums are shooting up, the red broom is doing its thing, and the other phlomis is now sending up flower spikes.

And hiding under shrubs and perennials, I found a few of these.  I possibly planted them some years ago, last year there was just one, this year there are four or five, so they seem to be doing quite well, despite the rather dry conditions.

Today we received an email from our Estate Agents saying that, whilst things do seem to be moving, they are moving more slowly than we had hoped.  The result of the local search is expected on 27th May.

Early last year, before any thought of removal entered our minds, we booked a week in Mull for early June.  Once we had decided to sell, we believed we would be travelling there from Ireland, and that, whilst slightly inconvenient so soon after our move, it wouldn't be a big hassle. Now it seems impossible that we can hope to be moved before then, so we have made up our minds that we won't.

We have consoled ourselves by spending more money on holidays, and have booked a few days in Edinburgh, to drop off booze and plants with my sister, followed by a few days in mid Scotland, before moving on to Mull.  We just need to book an overnight stay for the return journey to Norfolk.
