Buttercup and ant

No idea where today went, I don't think I did anything at all... We did go down to Place d'Europe to see what was happening, but we missed it and there was just the Mayor doing as little as the town can while seeming to do something. We dropped two Asterix books off at the library drop point but didn't pick anything up as it wasn't open at the time.

Today's blip is a buttercup, which are annoying to photograph because they are so reflective and all you normally get is white reflections instead of the yellow that you perceive. It was late when I took the picture so no direct light and hence it's come out more or less yellow. The extra is some apple blossom on an English variety, which wasn't happy last year but this year is looking very pleased with itself.

You can see an ant on the buttercup but they are on my apple trees and farming aphids which is a serious problem and they are going to get nuked somehow - I'm just not sure how yet. I'll try petroleum jelly again on the stems to keep them off and if the ants are kept at bay then the ladybirds will scarf the aphids up and if they don't then a blast of soapy water will do for them...
