Lathyrus Odoratus

Dingy Skipper

Very windy on top of the Downs this morning. The spaniel and I dropped into the comparative shelter of Ashcombe Bottom but even here the only butterflies flying seemed to be a single Grizzled Skipper (my first of the year) and about half a dozen Dingy Skippers. In flight the latter can easily be confused with the Mother Shipton and Burnet Companion day-flying moths which occupy similar habitat at the same time.
