Lathyrus Odoratus

Refueling

Southerly winds over the past few days have brought us an influx of Painted Lady butterflies from France. The spaniel and I headed for Lullington Heath this morning, a couple of miles inland from the coast. Walking from Crowlink via Friston Forest I counted at least 23 Painted Lady. Nine other species of butterfly were seen, making it my first 'double figures' butterfly walk of the year.
