I read somewhere that half of the world's bluebells are in Britain (how they work that out I don't know). I'd guess that a large proportion of those are in Sussex, which is still one of England's most densely wooded counties. The spaniel and I walked through Sheffield Forest this morning with its bluebell filled glades. More Painted Lady butterflies were streaming through.
