Hungry Cat

Here's a Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar blissfully munching on a Swamp Milkweed leaf. I planted a bunch of Swamp Milkweed seeds this past winter in a large pond container.  It's come up nicely in a thick patch and was growing like crazy until the caterpillars hatched out. They reduced the 'crop' to just sticks!  I counted 17 Cats and that didn't include the ones already on the larger plants! Looks like it's gonna be a 'bumper crop' of Monarchs this season! And the Swamp Milkweeds are shooting out new little leaves already! Yeah! :)
