curns' corner

After Bruch in Wimbledon, we walked up the hill to Cannizaro Park, and spent a lovely couple of hours chatting with M&R. We found a bench, sat admiring the flowers, and having a glass of over-priced wine in the sunshine. I possibly got a little sunburnt. The sunken garden near the hotel building was in full bloom and was really very impressive with a fantastic selection of different coloured plants. For some reason these caught my eye. There were a lot of people out and about enjoying the space which all felt very normal. I think the switch back from lockdown life to the new normal may be smoother than I previously thought with possibly one exception: eating and drinking back at restaurants and bars, as we have done a couple of times this weekend, is much more expensive that sitting in your own garden. I could have bought 4 bottles of the wine we’ve had at home in lockdown for the price we paid for 2 large glasses each this afternoon.
