I got one at last

Norfolk holiday day 8.

Just a short 5mile walk for us today.

We started out from Potter Heigham, as we crossed over the first of two fields we spotted our first bird of the day - a pheasant leaving the fields behind.

We enter Decoy road and that’s when I spotted the yellow tailed butterfly -  enjoying a feast on the bluebells.

An excited yell from Mr PC startled me and we saw a small deer crossing the road in front of us,

A short while later we entered the Hickling Nature Reserve and a sighting of our second bird, a big hawk like bird, a buzzard or perhaps a marsh harrier, too far away for a shot. Our third bird is an Egyptian goose( see extra).

Leaving the Nature reserve we continue past a field of sheep this one caught our eye(second extra).any sheep experts out there?

We cross the road and return to the village of Potter Hiegham and a welcome seat by the water for a coffee and a piece of homemade fruit cake.

On our return to the car we see bird number four - a heron flying over head.

We call into the pub  (The Dog Inn Ludham) on our return back to caravan site, for some light refreshments. The boys are very popular and they were well looked after, a bowl of fresh water and a doggie bed each to lie on. There we spotted bird number five, a kestrel.

All in all a pretty good day.
