Sun, sea and sky

Today several of us from our Tuesday morning walking group did an excursion to the Wenderholm Regional Park an hour’s drive north of Auckland.  The weather forecast wasn’t good, so we were prepared with rain jackets and sturdy boots but it turned out to be a lovely day with not a drop of rain.  The walk through native bush was lovely, with just enough inclines to get the heart rate up and a few tricky descents.  We had lunch on a hillside overlooking the ocean and afterwards descended to the beach and walked around the small peninsula before visiting Couldrey House for afternoon tea and a talk, which rounded off the day nicely.
