The new Liberation statue..

This was unveiled on Liberation Day (9 May) this year although it was meant to be revealed last year which was the 75th anniversary. 
The sculptor is the same person who produced the donkey and foal in market square.
Our official Liberation Monument is a very well thought out and researched monument but if you don’t know the story behind it, it just looks like a granite pillar on an area with seating around the edge. This one is supposed to portray modern day people re-enacting the Liberation. It probably needs a plaque or interpretation board too...
Today I had 2 walks to go to but they were rained off. So a lazy day it is.
