Hooray for the pollinators!

There were a couple of beautiful bees buzzing round these dandelions at the top of the drive, reinforcing my reasons to leave all flowering plants on our plot wherever they choose to grow! I also happen to live dandelions because they are so vibrant and cheer any gloomy grey day. That was the sort of day we had been forecast but luckily turned out not to be so. In the circumstances it was very fortuitous as our matting group, not having been able to meet as a group for about 18 months now, had planned a short trip to the Hemmel Cafe at Allenheads for a social gathering outside. The sun shine for us on and off the whole couple of hours we were there. Not quite warm enough to take off our coats as there was a chilly wind, but certainly unzipping them made it a very comfortable stay. We met over lunch time, so eating and drinking and much chatter was enjoyed, catching up on each other's lives, so much has happened since we were last together. We're hoping that the village hall will be reopening in the near future so we can regroup and start our meetings again soon. Unfortunately there was a sadder reason for the gathering. One of the ladies lost her husband to Covid at the beginning of the year. She is now selling her house in the village and moving closer to her daughters into a more manageable home. It won't be so far away that we will never see her again but too far for her to come to group every week. So there was a little bit of sadness over lunch but overall we all had a jolly time in each other's company. We all left looking forward to our next little gathering at a venue that will be hopefully be fully opened after next week and easily accessible to the friend who is moving.
The rest of the afternoon I spent on the telephone, today trying to mum's broadband connection for her new home. I have discovered that apparently at Bristol Court you have to have BT as it's all set up digitally over there. I wasn't able to get hold of anyone to discuss it with so that will be a tomorrow job.
Mum went to the hospital for an Echocardiogram, organised during her last stay in hospital. She said it went ok but of course won't have any results for a while. She was in a very jolly mood today, I think because she has been able to tick some things off of her list!
My own list is fairly well ticked off now and so just a few jobs left before my journey next Monday, then a whole new list will come into play!
