Friday walk.

We walked a bit of the coastal path and shore at low tide. We very much like this area; family memories in the rock pools! Spoke to the lads strimmng to make a clearer path. Much appreciated for shorts wearers! Also appreciated the new toilets near at the car park and that the access road has been resurfaced. Good recognition of needs of folks in covid times.

Watched the Election of the Deputy Presiding Officer at Holyrood.

Also viewed an additional First Minister’s statement re covid19. Moray and Glasgow City will not now be moved to Level 2 (like most mainland) on Monday. Hugely disappointing and disruptive for many there. High coronavirus case numbers and virulent Indian B.1.617.2 variant warrant this strong response, with other mitigation measures. Meanwhile in England the Prime Minister is pressing ahead with England opening up on Monday; the most significant changes to restrictions this year. Today SAGE have advised extreme caution as transmissibility is a concern. He described it as a race between vaccine and variant. Domestic Indian cases came in as PM dithered over closing entry to U.K. from India in April. More virulent than Kent B.1.1.7 variant.... which became uncontrolled when in community - and lead to lock down at New Year until now. Watch this space. On 22 February he grandly forecast end of restrictions on 21June...

Younger son played golf after work. The benefits of longer evenings. Older and son and fiancé looking forward to a few days off - some business re their wedding planned. And a Munro too.
