The Georgian Bath House - Wetherby

During this morning's ramble around the town of Wetherby I discovered this old Georgian bath house tucked away in the corner of Jubilee Gardens down by the river.
It was built over 200 years ago at the time when cold water plunges were fashionable and thought to relieve numerous medical complaints. It is currently locked up, and I did wonder if it is now used as a tea room as I could see tables and chairs inside. Apparently that's not the case.
Looking up its history here, it has two floors. The lower level contains a cold plunge pool, and the upper level was where the bathers would subsequently retire to and then socialise, eat and drink and indulge in pastimes such as gambling.
