Schoodic from the Point

A pleasant day of doing some chores.

We went out to the Point this morning to take shutters off the cabins, hang screens, take off the chimney cap, and do a little general prep to get the place ready for summer. Took one lap around the point and, as always, wished we had the time to stay for at least a week. Vowed to come back with a box of contractor bags next time to collect some of the accumulated plastic debris washed up along the shore and into the woods. The cow buoy was moaning away like crazy even though it seemed relatively clear and calm. It really sets a mood for the place, particularly when its cold, dark and damp. Then it can get positively creepy. In a good way.

After returning home we got back to work replacing some of the screens on the front porch. The wood around the frames is so old and rotten by this point that it was hard to do a great job, but it's very satisfying to have it done. Besides keeping legions of insects away during the summer, we will be able to let the cat out on the porch with more peace of mind.

Now if I can motivate myself to get some paperwork done before work tomorrow the day will have been crazy productive.
