Life In Wales

Happy Birthday Mum!

Mum’s had to occupy herself today as Alan and I were both in work, after having two weeks off for the move, we couldn’t really take anymore time off. But, at least she’s here with us and not on her own.

The other problem is that the plasterer started work today - we’re having the archway between the living room and dining room blocked up and skimmed, the door between the dining room and kitchen removed, and the artex ceilings are being skimmed. So last night we had to remove all the furniture from both rooms, so mum has spent the day in the conservatory reading her book. We did have lunch together though!

We were expecting our new dining room furniture to be delivered tomorrow, but this afternoon the driver called to say they were in the area today and asked if they could deliver it a day early. It wasn’t ideal in light of the fact that we’ve already removed the rest of the furniture, but there was enough space for it in the garage.

Anyway, once I’d finished work, I had to nip to Next in Llandudno to pick up a lamp that we’d ordered, so I took mum with me, and we headed to the pier for a stroll. I showed her Aunty Ethel and Uncle Harry’s bench, and she sat on it for a little while, before heading home via the scenic route.

Congratulations to HeartFreek on becoming a Grannie today, and to the new parents and Baby Brown of course!
