The View from Here

The view from the porch at 6.17 a.m.  Normal service was resumed at the back of nine as a team of decorators drifted in and placed some dark wooly clouds on the horizon then a thin grey veil over the whole scene.

The moistness was palpable.

Dave came round to lift our spirits with a selection of discs to try and realign our cultural direction.  It hit the spot; courtesy of the Yellowjackets, Charles Mingus (East Coasting), Jan Garbarek (Dresden), Tord Gustavsen, Joe Harriott and John Mayer – Indo-Jazz Fusions.  We then got our books out and did some colouring in.

Ralph Towner came to the front door – as tactfully as possible I informed him he was in the wrong Blip.

After his last performance in Cats Harry was prone to taking too many curtain calls.

Phil Upchurch is 79.  He’s never met Adrian Henri.  Or Virginia Wade.
