Into every life a little hail must fall

Well yesterday was a lovely day, warm and beautiful.

Today on the other hand, well it’s been overcast and raining hard, with storms and thunder and lightning, and much hail.

Yes hail.
Some of Lauralea’s small cucumber plants took a hit and may not bounce back, which means we will suffer with less pickles this autumn. But perhaps it’s still early enough in the season to hope for those little plants to repair and to grow up strong.

I think most of our farmers in the area got done seeding yesterday, so just in time. And also hopefully it’s too early for the hail to disturb what’s been seeded. Hopefully.

This isn’t even the real disturbing news. That is reserved for the special weather advisory we just received warning us that snow is coming tonight. Good grief. Snow. Sick wet heavy snow, and the temperatures will be below freezing so there might be snow on the ground in the morning when I come to work.

Fun on the Canadian prairies.
