We visited Bluebell Cottage Nursery first of all, for a look around the charming Garden. They are not open all week, on-line sales means that they have to focus on packing plants into boxes on Mondays and Tuesdays. Good to hear they are doing well.

Then we walked through the bluebell wood and pasture (the cows are back) to follow the path down to the River Weaver. Lovely sunshine, and may blossom, cow parsley and buttercups everywhere. We missed all this last year, so it’s good to enjoy it all. I chose this shot for my blip just because it features two of these plants, the third in in extras.

This year, we’ve got a monthly bird count going. So far in May we are at 73 species, with whitethroat and kingfisher added today. No kestrel so far which is surprising , and no sign of cuckoo (they have declined massively since I was a boy hearing them through every Spring).
