Overdue hug

The Fitzwilliam Museum seems to have reopened based on the flurry of activity at the entrance. I strolled past and admired the imposing lions after seeing Elizabeth by the river. We’d almost been deafened by tree surgeons tearing down vegetation, no doubt in the name of urban manicuring.

There is some updated government guidance on hugging (which, pre-2020, is not a sentence I would ever have imagined writing). ‘In England, people can hug friends and family in any setting but are being advised to use "personal judgement".’

Sara and I judged that hugging in the setting of “the office” was within the bounds of reason. And it felt good.

My niece’s birth has been officially registered. Yippeeeeeee.
