Flowers for the soft-hearted

Back to the old routine - dull, drizzly and windy, but with some sunshine(ish) later on. We forced ourselves to go out for a quick walk round the block where I photographed a beautiful Laprocapnos (formerly Dicentra) spectabilis in someone's garden. Known as 'Bleeding Heart', if you turn a flower upside down and gently pull the petals apart you'll see why they're also known as 'Ladies in the Bath-tub'!

At the other end of our road there's a bank of bluebells with several good clumps of white and others in different shades of pink - see extra. Oddly enough they don't appear to have any Spanish bluebell influence, being normal size and with one-directional hanging florets. I haven't seen any obvious Spanish bluebells in the area. Bit of a mystery.

Quote of the Day:

Charles Dickens - "Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts."
