Heifers in the field

These young cows always make my heart melt... it pleased me to find them in the meadow not far from home, because I see there are less cows out in the fields nowadays. Their number in the pasture may be fewer because the cows are kept in the "loose stalls" and possibly are fewer because less cows are kept or it's because fewer farmers are left over these days.
