A million tiny lights

Murron was home alone with Nick and I again for New Year's Eve and she was feeling a little glum. Sam and Rowan went out to celebrate with friends so I thought Right! lets go out! We made up a flask of hot chocolate and drove into Edinburgh. After a quick Starbucks we went to the cinema to watch The Life of Pi (AMAZING) and came out just in time to see the short burst of fireworks at 11pm. We wandered along Princes Street soaking up the atmosphere before going in search of chips which we found on the Royal Mile. Munching away, we made our way to Calton Hill to watch the fireworks and drank hot chocolate to keep ourselves warm. The fireworks were, as always, spectacular and the people around us so friendly. Murron was in her element, eyes wide as the fireworks burst into a million tiny lights above her. It really was magical. We will definitely be doing it again.
