Wet and windy

What a May we are having... cold, wet and windy and this morning as I got up wearing a winter polar neck I realised we are over half way through May and I haven't even thought about getting out any summer clothes yet!!  I had my second vaccine yesterday and so I was always going to have a quiet day today .. I feel leaden but otherwise ok :) (so far) 
Litte birds still 7 of them but what a day the parents were in and out so fast with huge caterpillars but also totally soaked and bedraggled looking. Fingers crossed the caterpillars don't get blown away in the storm raging outside tonight.  
I borrowed a photo to paint this from.. quite pleased with it for a small unguided portrait.
