Wet, wet, wet!

The phrase which has been in my head from time to time today comes from a  well known Shakespearean
sonnet.
"Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May".
Along with practically non-stop rain.
I quickly went up the garden just now and took this photo of our neighbour's clematis.
We had a lovely afternoon with a friend who called in, bringing us some slices of gluten free Lemon Drizzle cake to share, as we sat down looking out at the elements outside whilst enjoying a mug of coffee with the delicious treat.
The time flew past!
He left at 4.50pm.
Yesterday I had one of my friends here for tea and an Oat and Apple muffin, made by my resident Master Baker, who had decamped of to the gym for a session.
Another lovely afternoon of conversation, being indoors for the first time, under the new Lockdown easing.
It will take awhile to adjust having become used to social distancing and meeting up only outdoors which this past month has been challenging to say the least!
Everything is dripping.
The patio table and chairs are drip drip drip.
The raindrops collecting on the leaves of the hostas, and the Alchemilla Mollis.
Our Liquid Amber tree is just about coming into leaf, three weeks late this year.
What a difference from last year's early Spring and Summer.
The resident Wood Pigeons are looking very soggy. Now time for a bacon sandwich for tea.
