Standing on the lowermost deck

A quiet day. Having had a bit of a sleep in, I went to Warkworth after breakfast to do the weekly shop. I go early to avoid the block at the "Hill Street intersection". This infamous intersection has been the source of locals' ire since the 1970s (I'm told). Today I drove through it with only a brief delay. When I returned the queue to leave Sandspit Road was a kilometre long. Land Transport has resisted the simplest (a roundabout) and the most complex solution (a flyover!!).

Then reading and relaxing until another stint in the garden. This time the bank beside the steps down from the top deck. A couple of retaining walls have created two terraced gardens, which today I weeded. By which I mean that i pulled out unwanted (by me) ground cover which was threatening to overwhelm the daisies and the hebe. Even the orange tree and the hibiscus are likely to be struggling with the water and nutrient demands.

My photo is the post work appearance. The lower slope has not been attended to as yet.
