Blipping Forty

Sycamore Gap

A covering of snow greeted us this morning when the curtains were opened. EP had a tough weekend at work while I was away enjoying myself so it was time for him to have a wee day out & a change of scene. We took a short drive along the wall (Hadrian's wall) & stopped at Steel Rigg. As we parked, the weather closed in, and we felt like we were parked at the north pole!! However it cleared again quickly and we set out for a walk along the wall. It was bitterly cold, the car thermometer had indicated minus 2.5 and that was without the windchill. It was glorious though, the sun shining on the snow covered wilderness and barely a cloud in the sky. I took about 70 shots in all and so it was difficult to narrow it down to blip just one. I decided on this classic taken at Sycamore Gap, made famous by the 1991 Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves film starring Kevin Costner.

Back to work tomorrow, but time off wouldn't be so precious and enjoyable if it wasn't for work!!
