Swiss Cows are in the Mountains ...

Some days it just has to be Swiss cows! I feel so happy for them as they are released onto their lower summer pastures. The principle of transhumance, the cows moving up the mountain as more grass and flowers grow after the snow melts, makes for delicious milk (and chocolate). We had a big 1000m walk from the valley to get to the alpage where the cows were with some particularly dodgy river crossings on the way up there (extra). My knees are singing now, mainly from the descent which was on an easy track but still it was 1000m down. Hope you all had a good weekend too.
