Through these eyes

Reed Warbler

We arrived at RSPB Burton this morning just as the heavens opened, turning the track down to the reserve into a river.  After sheltering in the car for 10 minutes it finally eased off and we were able to venture out.  It rained on and off throughout the morning but nothing like that initial downpour.

Even in the wet weather the bird count was a respectable 36 for the day. We even saw the bittern fly into the reed bed at one point.
